Notes:
My dad always told me that his crew has a very strict policy: if you’re invited on a trip by one of the boys, don’t ask questions. Just say yes. IN. As soon as you ask a question, “When is it? Where are we going? What’s it like there? Are there any waves right now? Is the snow ok?” You’re OUT. It’s that simple. Trust your buddy who’se put the adventure together and get ready to have the best time of your life. Our trip to the Salmon River in Idaho was case in point. One of my dads best friends, Packy Jones, organized a week long river rafting trip down the Middle Fork River - a breathtaking and life-changing adventure in the most remote region in the lower-48. The Salmon River carves its way through the Sawtooth and Lemhi Valleys of Central and Eastern Idaho and features a 180 mile section that is more than one mile deep. It provides you with some of the most amazing scenery and wildlife you could ever imagine. We spent the week entirely off the grid, floating down the river and frolicking in the company of our best friends. We experienced some of the best fly-fishing ever, played volleyball, hiked and played games, ate and drank, saw more Bald Eagles than we could count and found jumping rocks and swimming holes at each camp. One afternoon while playing in the river, a fleet of A-10 Warthogs flew within reaching distance of us, gliding effortlessly through the rugged canyon below and leaving with it a deafening jet-stream. The unexpected beauty of the Middle Fork River is wild as it ever was and is sure to treat you to its beauty. Thanks for an epic trip Pacman and can’t wait for the next one. *A must hit adventure for anyone in the West.
