Sapiens

Yuval Noah Harari

I first picked up Sapiens my Junior year of college after a friend recommended it to me. It’s a amazing read on human history within a given framework: Yuval Harari sees the natural sciences as setting the limits of possibility for human activity and sees the social sciences as shaping what happens within those bounds. He shares that the academic discipline of history is the account of cultural change and presents a fascinating argument as to how human beings came to dominate the world. Sapiens is a dense read and will make you think and ask questions - big time. It took me quite some time to finish but was beyond worth it and a must read if you’re find yourself ready for a moving, cultural, evolutionary and historical experience.
